Basic web 3: Using the internet

What is the internet?

-The internet is a global network of computers that works much like the postal system.

How does the web work?

-The web is a system for publishing pages of information on the internet, and for linking pages together using links, that makes easy for people to share documents or search information. 

What is a web browser?

-A web browser is a webside that allow you to surf the internet and acces in diferent websides.

How do I get broadband? 

-Many companies offer home broadband connections. These companies are called internet service providers, or ISPs, and provide broadband deals or 'packages'.

What is WIFI?

-WIFI ia a sistem of connectinf on the internet without wires.

How can I access the internet in public spaces?  

-Going to a place that have free WIFI.

What is bluetooth?

-Bluetooth is a way of exchanging data wirelessly over short distances.

How do I download files?

-Download means to transfer from the internet to your computer.

What are files extencions?

-Computer files have specific characteristics which depend on the software that created them.

What are plug-ins?

-A plug-in is a (sometimes essential) piece of software code that enables an application or program to do something it couldn’t by itself.

What plug-ins do I need?

-The basic plug-ins  are Adobe Flash, Windows Media Player...
